We were not designed to sit on toilets. It’s true – we were designed to squat. We were not designed to sit all day or use ovens or effort- and time-saving yeast in our bread. We were designed to use our bodies to get all we needed to function and survive. Today, the modern-day conveniences that we so love are oh so handy and time-saving. However, our bodies have not adapted quickly enough to this way of life and because of this, we suffer. Our bodies are tight and sore, we injure ourselves easily, we are weak and immobile.

Thankfully, more and more people are starting to realize that their bodies require fine-tuning to operate without injury and to perform at their best. Education is finally landing with people and they are recognizing tight muscles as warning signals for poor neuro-motor patterning, inadequate whole-body integration, sub-par stability, and so on.

People are blaming their gender, their occupation, their history on the current state of their bodies less and are instead taking action to remedy these imbalances, these pains… their dissatisfaction with their body.

As a movement expert and health care professional, I work with patients one-on-one and teach classes designed to correct and integrate the neuromuscular patterns in the body. When you optimize the firing patterns of your muscles, you strengthen your body and improve joint and tissue mobility. This work stabilizes your musculoskeletal system, establishing balance throughout your body: front-to-back, side-to-side, top-to-bottom, deep-to-superficial, and so on.

This work is not helpful unless it’s being done correctly and far too often, people don’t know that they’re not doing things correctly until they are individually cued into correction. Each body is unique and requires correction that optimally resonates with each student/patient.
