Corrective Movement Class with Dr Carla Cupido DC

If you are a patient of mine, you know that I’m a huge proponent of using corrective exercises to eliminate pain and restore function. If you’ve done your corrective exercises, you also know that they aren’t the most riveting activity in the world. They are however THE fastest way to get back to doing what you want to do when done properly and consistently. The biggest challenge for us is that these exercises are composed of subtle movements that feel foreign; we’re not good at them. This makes them frustrating and unsatisfying so most people usually just ditch them and hit the gym.
MOST OF US JUST WANT TO SWEAT & SUFFER.
To help you quickly get back to doing what you want to do, I’ve created a series of 60-minute classes to punt the pain and get back to full performance. You won’t have to worry about holding yourself accountable after a long day of work, you’ll get to do your “homework” in a great social setting with a bunch other motivated people and most of all, you’ll know you’re doing the work correctly and not wasting your time reinforcing the old, incorrect movement patterns.
We all want to get out there for a sport, an adventure, to play with your family, or a physically active retirement. To do any of these you need a strong and functional body.
Our modern-day culture and environment are re-shaping how our bodies develop and function. Desks, computers, chairs, mobile devices, among many other things are negatively transforming our physiology, range of motion and movement patterns to the point that we no longer move as humans were designed to. We need to consciously take action if we want to maintain highly active and healthy lifestyles and we’ll begin this work in this series.
About the Class
In each 60-minute class, I will lead you through a series of corrective movement patterns with precise cuing and guidance that will re-teach your body to move as it should. Whether you have injuries or not, this class will provide the fundamental requirements for retaining and building strength and mobility. This won’t be just another guided rehab session; I will be drawing on my in-depth understanding of the body as a Doctor of Chriopractic with extensive study and training in functional movement to get real results by re-training your body using optimized breathing, neuro-motor patterning and individualized cuing.

*Minimum age = 13 years old due to kinesthetic awareness (understanding your body and where it is in space).
