Taking Care of Your Children with Naturopathic Family Medicine
Keeping our children healthy in the short term and decreasing their chances for developing chronic disease in the long term is the ultimate goal of preventative medicine.
Children are not just small adults; they have their own set of very specific needs. The treatments used for their wellness are different from the prescriptions we recommend for adults. The type of illnesses most common in childhood are unique to this stage of life, and as such, different clinical principles are applied in the care of infants, toddlers, and school-aged children.
We offer regular examinations and check-ups more frequently during the first two years, and then four times per year from ages three and up.
Conditions that we treat and support include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Brain health including attention disorders, ADHD, ADD, and behavioural concerns
- Digestive health including IBS, constipation, diarrhea, Crohn’s, and malabsorption syndromes
- Food allergies and intolerances
- Respiratory conditions including colds, flu, strep, bronchitis and pneumonia
- Ear Infections
- Skin rashes and eczema
